In addition to various model and web app enhancements, the major update for the August 2022 release is the launch of Tyba’s Digital Twin module. The Digital Twin module simulates how a storage would bid and clear with an ISO on a rolling daily, hourly, and sub-hourly basis if it were operational.

Compare Tyba’s price predictions vs. actuals (left) and Tyba’s suggested operations (right) to maximize value from storage based on those price predictions.

Digital Twin FAQs

How can my company benefit from Digital Twin?

How does Digital Twin work?

You provide select project design inputs such as project location, storage size/duration, and cycling constraints.  Based on the inputs you provide, Tyba will:

  1. Train its ML-based model to forecast nodal/ISO prices and recommend an optimal operational profile for each operating day, hour, and sub-hourly interval.
  2. Translate the optimal operational profile to bid/offer curves.
  3. Shadow submit the bid/offer curves and ensure they meet ISO timelines for Day-Ahead and Real-Time auction submissions.
  4. Compare bid/offer curves against actual ISO auction results and simulate expected operations and revenue.
